- You teach a 40% or greater load as of census date, and
- Neither your own nor your dependent's health insurance premiums are paid by an employer other than California community college district. (Faculty or their dependents whose premiums for health insurance are paid by an employer other than a California community college district are not eligible to participate in this program.)
The Spring 2025 enrollment period is during March 2025.
If you qualify as of census date, you will receive an email from the Human Resources Department with information about the enrollment period, forms, and deadlines.
For faculty who qualify in the Fall Semester, the coverage period is November through
April.
For faculty who qualify in the Spring Semester, the coverage period is May through
October.
Your WVMCCD medical coverage will end at the end of the coverage period (April 30 for those who qualify in the Fall Semester, October 31 for those who qualify in the Spring semester). When coverage ends, you may be able to maintain coverage through COBRA, enroll in a Covered California medical plan, or enroll on another employer's health plan (if one is available to you) through the qualifying event of losing other coverage.
Plans offered are CalPERS medical plans. There are 8 plans to choose from, including 6 HMO plans and 2 PPO plans.
For Spring 2025: To enroll, submit a copy of the Enrollment Form by March 28, 2025, at 5 PM. All dependents require verification documents to be enrolled in coverage.
