- All active full-time and part-time faculty and classified employees of the WVMCCD are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
- The program allows for payment of up to $4000 annually per applicant for approved
tuition and fees costs.
- Only “tuition and fees” costs will be covered.
- The amount requested can cover one term or a full year
- Only “tuition and fees” can be covered by this money. No separate course fees (e.g., lab fees) or text books are covered. Evidence of cost should be included with your application (e.g., printed web page or a detailed receipt containing tuition and fees information).
- Up to $4,000 may be requested in any academic year.
- Only “tuition and fees” costs will be covered.
- In the event of a pre-approved application payment
- You must submit a receipt and return any excess money by the beginning of your next term.
- If the employee earns less than a “B" grade in an approved course, the employee must repay the entire grant before being able to reapply for the program.
- Successful applicants should submit their grades to the Chancellor’s Office at the end of a term in order to continue in the program.
- Successful applications require educational plans leading to a certificate or degree
from an accredited institution.
- Applicants with multi-year plans must reapply every year. (See: #8).
- Educational plans should list the courses to be taken by semester, from the beginning of participation in the program to the completion of the educational plan.
- All applications must be approved by the Executive Management Team (EMT).
- Applications will be taken and decided on in a “first come, first served” basis; if multiple eligible applications arrive at the same time, then a lottery will be held to decide who will receive funds.
- If an applicant has a multi-year program and successfully submits the initiating application with all required documents, then his or her following applications will be noted for fulfillment as a matter of course, if application is made without a break (i.e., application made every year).
- First applications will be accepted July 1 of every year. If funding is still available, a second call for applications will take place.
