Chancellor's Office

About the Office

Welcome to the West Valley-Mission Community College District! The Chancellor's Office is dedicated to uniting our colleges in a shared vision of educational excellence, where students from diverse backgrounds feel connected and supported in achieving their goals and aspirations. Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor leads the district in planning, organizing, and evaluating all programs, services, and activities that enhance educational opportunities for our diverse student body. Providing executive direction to both academic and classified administrators, the Chancellor ensures that administration, instruction, and student services align with the community's needs.

The Chancellor collaborates closely with the Board to achieve goals outlined in the district's educational master plans. This includes developing and implementing innovative, cost-effective policies and programs that comply with regulations. Additionally, the Chancellor fosters partnerships with community business leaders and organizations to enhance educational services and vocational training. By maintaining a comprehensive perspective on all aspects of the district, the Chancellor ensures that West Valley-Mission remains responsive to its community, supports student success by removing barriers, and prepares students for the future.

Meet the Chancellor

Chancellor Brad DavisDr. Bradley Davis brings over 25 years of higher education leadership to his role as Chancellor of the West Valley-Mission Community College District. Now in his sixth year as Chancellor, he holds the distinction of being the longest-tenured President in West Valley College history. Under his leadership, the district has made significant strides in removing barriers for students, including waiving parking, health services, and childcare costs at both colleges. Recently, Dr. Davis championed a pilot program to waive all tuition and enrollment fees for District residents.

During his tenure as President of West Valley College, Dr. Davis established a nationally recognized Veterans Resource Center, offering counseling and financial assistance to veteran students. The college also pioneered the state's first on-campus mobile food pantry and SafePark overnight parking program, earning national recognition as the first community college certified as "Age-Friendly" by the Age-Friendly University Network.

As Chancellor, Dr. Davis has orchestrated the district’s transition to its current Basic Aid funding model, significantly enhancing its financial strategy and stability. He is celebrated as the most successful fundraiser in the California Community College system, securing two facility bonds exceeding $1 billion. In total, Chancellor Davis has overseen the construction of fifteen new or renovated buildings across the district.

Beyond his administrative roles, Dr. Davis remains actively engaged in academia, serving as a faculty member in several graduate programs throughout California. His academic credentials include a Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University's College of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Gannon University, where he excelled in two NCAA Division II sports: baseball and basketball.”
