Mary-Lynne Bernald

As a Saratoga resident since 1978, Mary-Lynne has been deeply involved in community service for decades. In 2014, she was honored to be elected to the Saratoga City Council and re-elected in 2018, the year she served as mayor. Prior to her Council service she spent ten years on the Saratoga Planning Commission, advocating for responsible growth and development in the city.

During her tenure on the City Council, she served on numerous local and regional executive boards, committees, and foundations. A highlight of her year as mayor was instituting the City of Saratoga Youth in Government program, providing students with a valuable opportunity to learn about local government, meet their elected officials, and gain hands-on experience in City government through a summer internship program.

Mary-Lynne graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a BA in Political Science and holds a Certificate in Human Resource Development and Training from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
