Excerpts from the Minutes of 10/20 DBAC Meeting

"to wrap up the discussion, Mr. Hendrickson asked for a vote on whether the District should hire a facilitator to help out with the process. Mr. ludwig and Mr. Grayson stated that if the District had to pay for a facilitator, then they were against the idea. The consensus of the group was that a facilitator would be needed but the cost to hire one should be identified and discussed at DBAC before a decision is made. Mr. Hendrickson then asked the group if Bob Jensen should be considered for the job. President Chong stated that Dr. Jensen should be considered since he is familiar with the District and the allocation model. Dr. Brodrick disagreed and stated that Dr. Jensen should not be considered. Ms. Castello and Ms. Francis also stated that Dr. Jensen was not well versed with the "ins" and outs" of the District Allocation model. Dr. Brodrick then stated that it was too late to develop a new model for 05/06 so there was no rush to make a decision about a facilitator. Ms. Lock agreed with Dr. Brodrick and recommended that BAMS move forward without a facilitator and at a later date decide if a facilitator is needed. The group agreed with this recommendation.

Mr. Hendrickson also requested that a revision be made to item #2 of the minutes of the October 20 meeting. Mr. Hendrickson asked to have a sentence deleted which stated that the use of Mr. Jensen as the BAMS facilitator was merely a suggestion. Mr. Hendrickson informed the committee that the use of Mr. Jensen had been discussed in various other forums and it had been announced that he would facilitate for BAMS."
